Spaces in Between
Spaces In Between revolves around places I associate with my family and focuses on the time between then and now. Referencing past photographs, I recreated these scenes juxtaposing tangible and intangible memories. The photographs are evidence of the past, the fabric works illustrate the present and the process of creation then translates the time in-between. With different objects and subjects as a focus, I created various psychological spaces exploring emotions and experiences surrounding isolation, separation, and absentness affected by changes in the environment. By reconnecting with my past and presenting a current view, I invite viewers to a conversation on memories, reflection, and what happens “in-between”.
